We are often asked: Who do you help and why?
With each person that reaches out, we have meaningful discussions to determine how we can best help.
And for those we do help, there is always a significant hardship (usually multiple hardships) and a desire to work and improve their situation.
Our goal: a small gesture of love and kindness gives each person a hope and belief in a better tomorrow.
We will continue to do our best to provide one-time assistance to as many people as possible. And please know your tax-deductible donations are so appreciated.
Thanks to your generosity, here are 10 of the most recent kind individuals and families who have been helped the last couple of weeks.
Judy was diagnosed with stage three uterine cancer. She had surgery in December and soon began chemo. She is still receiving treatments and is physically unable to work. Struggling to keep up with her car payments, the foundation helped catch her up.
Childcare abuse left a young mother’s son disabled with a traumatic brain injury. Needing to move away from the daycare provider who injured her son and with no furniture for her children, the foundation helped with a bed and some dressers for their new apartment.
Maria, a young mother whose husband left recently; he was no longer a contributing member of her household. Though she is working, she was facing eviction. We were able to help Maria avoid eviction. Maria is optimistic moving forward that she and her kids will be ok.
Theresa, a grandmother has several medical conditions not allowing her to work. On a fixed income and taking care of her 44-year-old autistic son, she fell behind on car payments and repairs. We helped with payment to get current.
James is a homeless man who had means of communication. The foundation helped him get a phone and is working to help him find meaningful employment.
Vivian is newly single, having left her partner with substance abuse issues. Though working often overtime, she had fallen behind on her day care costs. The foundation helped with some of these costs.
Jeremy got divorced, his car stopped working, and he lost his housing recently as well. With no housing, he often stays the family room at his church. Jeremy is doing his best to stay positive and look for work. The foundation helped with monies toward the car repair.
Katie’s husband left years ago, leaving her with two young boys. He never paid child support, and she has struggled since to make ends meet. With her ex-husband recently passing, the foundation helped with the food cost for his funeral expenses.
Rachel has a storage unit set for auction (with priceless family heirloom items in her unit.). She works but has no working vehicle right now. And her boyfriend has epilepsy, fell asleep at work, and lost his job as a result. The foundation helped with storage costs to avoid the auction.
The foundation assisted a young woman who without cause, was abruptly forced to move out of housing with her boyfriend. With literally nowhere to go, we helped her some costs on securing a new, safe apartment.
