Sometimes one unexpected tragedy can change everything for a family.

This summer, Aunestie's partner was the victim of a horrific shooting while visiting family in Chicago. He survived but suffered serious injuries and faces months of recovery and rehabilitation before he can return home.

Despite working fulltime and doing everything she can to move forward, the sudden loss of her partner’s income left her struggling to catch up on rent and facing the possibility of eviction.

The O’Neill Foundation of Hope was grateful to step in and help pay a portion of Aunestie’s rent, giving her and her daughter some breathing room.
